World’s Biggest Cave Found in Vietnam, 2011

A British caver wades through Vietnam’s Son Doong cave, Earth's largest known cave passage, according to a survey team.
A local farmer, who had found the entrance to the Son Doong cave several years ago, led the joint British-Vietnamese expedition team to the cavern in April. The team found an underground river running through the First 1.6 miles(2.5 kilometers)of the limestone cavern,as well as giant stalagmites more than 230 feet(70 meters) high.
A massive cave recently uncovered in a remote Vietnamese jungle is the largest single cave passage yet found, a new survey shows.

World's biggest airport coming up in London

Throughout history the British have always been amongst the first to venture across seas to claim their right to have the biggest and best from around the world. Not much has changed centuries later. The architectural firm of Foster + Partners have partnered with the Halcrow and Volterra builders (a consultancy group of British economists) to discuss their ambitious plans to construct the biggest airport in the world, in the UK. Sources say it will be located at the end of the Thames Estuary. This new airport is aiming to help take the strain off the traffic from the Heathrow airport. This airport will be a part of the brand new Thames Hub transport systems that will also have a high speed railway arrangement for trains running within the UK and Europe. Plans for a new Thames barrier to extend over the flood-proof zone further along the river are also in works. The FT has called this go-getting exercise as the "most radical overhaul of Britain’s transport, logistics and communication network since the building of the railways". The London Mayor, Boris Johnson has already voiced his approval for this extraordinary project. Some time back even China had announced its plans for world's biggest airport in Beijing that would be of the size of Bermuda island.

Engineering Wonder in Jaipur India

Chand Baori is a famous stepwell situated in the village Abhaneri near Jaipur in Indian state of Rajasthan. The Chand Baori, a vast well with flights of steps on three sides, is a 10th century monument situated in Abhaneri. It is a fine example of the architectural excellence prevalent in the past. This impressive step well is as deep as a seven storeyed building. The famous Harshat Mata temple situated opposite to this well shows that there must have been a religious connection with the step-well. The well is 35 m on each side with steps leading down from each side and water can be drawn from any level. It has so many steps to make it impossible for someone to retrieve a coin once it ' s been dropped in the well.
